SBQ January 10th, 2008

Ahem... Almost a year since I´ve answered one of these. To my defence I haven´t been stitching much since last.

This week's SBQ is:

What was your favorite finish of 2007?

My favorite finish of 2007 is without a doubt this

Ghoulies and Ghosties by JustNan

JustNan makes nice patterns. I love Halloween so it was a very enjoyable stitch through and through.

This was also the ONLY stitching finish I had in the year 2007 (not counting the Maisons de la Campaign patterns since they are just a part of a bigger design).

SBQ, February 14th (answered today)

Today's SBQ is:

Do you like to buy "chartpacks" that include charms, buttons, and/or
beads or do you prefer to gather all materials yourself?

I much prefer chartpacks but I don't care too much for normal kits. I have all the DMC threads and I don't care too much for aida (I like evenweave better), so when there are no beads, charms or special threads I prefer to kit it up myself.

Do you dream of running your own LNS/ONS? If so, tell us about your
dream. If not, tell us about your cross stitch dream… maybe you dream
of designing, dyeing your own floss or fabric, etc.

I've dreamed of having a good LNS in Iceland and thought it would be nice to actually own it. Maybe one day I come back to Iceland and start up this business and hire my stitching friends to work there (for the joy of it, he he).

I've wanted to be able to design my own patterns. Maybe to start with a small simple piece in few colors. I have couple of ideas but I don't find time to do it.

Have you had a happy dance yet this year? If so, tell us about it! (Or
just point to the entry that talks about it.) If not, when do you
predict it will be?

No, I haven't. I did start a new stitching piece on Christmas. It was a Christmas Stocking. It's going quite nicely until the cat peed (pee-ed?) on it. Yep, you heard right. The darn cat urinated on my canvas bag and it got on the stitched piece. She's peed on another canvas bag not long ago. That one containing some knitting. I had to throw away an Interweave Knits magazine and a skein of laceweight alpaca. It was my Swallowtail shawl. I was going to unravel it anyways, and that's when I found out about the cat pee.

The stitching was going very nicely before this incident and I will start soon (it should be dry by now). I am going to finish it before the end of January. In February a secret SAL will start in my stitching group and I've decided to participate.

I answered this question when it got sent out (Jan 17th) but now (Feb 9th) I've had a Happy Dance. I finished the January piece of the Maisons de Campagne SAL. I also never got started on the Christmas Stocking piece again, but did the above mentioned SAL instead.

SBQ, February 7th

Today's SBQ was suggested by Danielle
and is:

Have you ever been to a stitching retreat?

I've been to a summer house retreat couple of times with my Allt í kross stitching group in Iceland. It's the most fun I've ever have and a great company.
